Client: Plymouth Argyle
The brief: it's always busy at League Division One team, Plymouth Argyle, and when the decision was made to announce exciting changes at the football club, Wordfluential was called in to help manage the comms.
Working with the board team, we assessed PR opportunities and shareholder sensitivities to create a communications strategy that would achieve the board's objectives. Working closely with the internal team we then delivered a focussed PR campaign around the changes making sure key that National and regional press were fully informed at timings to meet their deadlines.
Impact: Local and media engagement was excellent with the key local broadcasters, like the BBC and ITV, devoting prime time slots to interview key stakeholders both on live morning shows and also pre-record broadcasts for TV news shows. We also pitched the story out nationally and saw news coverage on Sky as well and major sports outlets. Key messages were beautifully delivered by lead spokespeople, generating much excitement, confidence and pride amongst the team. C'mon you Pilgrims!
